Testimony from Richelle A.M, RMP

“Congrats chiin chiin! Master Tubera (Master Plumber) ka na!” Those were the first words I heard from my colleague at work after she saw my name on the list of passers for Master Plumbers Licensure Exam (MPLE).

Preparing for the MPLE wasn’t exactly my plan to take it this year but I do remember making it a goal way back in college to take it but with no definite year when and I even prayed about it too. It was an impulsive decision I made because I was asked by one of my friends to take it with them this year July 2023. We looked for a review center for the MPLE and enrolled there. 4 months of reviewing was not easy because we had juggle up our time with work and sacrificing personal free time with self-reviewing 2 hrs after work and 8 hrs for Saturday and meeting with the Review Center on Sundays. The schedule had a conflict with the Sunday church service in the morning but I attended on Prayer Meetings on Wednesday nights because I still want to be in the presence of the Lord. I asked a prayer request about it too. Everyone, my family, Pastora Roslyn and Bishop prayed for me. They were very supportive and I am thankful for them. During the review days had me completely drowned in reading the book and reviewers, memorizing every table and standard measurements regarding plumbing, and math formulas (I wasn’t always a fan of complex math) and familiarizing all questions and answers that might show on the exam. I followed all the tips what the Mentors have given to us from writing it down on a paper and taping it on wall to eating dark chocolates. My friend who is also taking the exam, we were helping each other understand some hard problems during the review. I also didn’t forget about the Lord. I prayed every day asking for help to study and not to get nervous when the exam is coming near. The thought of “What if I fail because of math?” didn’t go away but then the thought “Nah You’ll pass just keep doing your part and review” also followed up. It eases my mind about it. My go-to-verses that I kept remembering were I Peter 5:7 and Hebrew 11:2. His Word brings me comfort. Fast-forward to the night before the exam. I did a little more review and prepared for bed. My sister messaged me telling that to pray first before starting answering every subject. The exam is 2 days with 4 subjects. I prayed to God asking help that I will remember everything and I will not get sleepy because it was so early. Day 1, Plumbing Arithmetic (Math) was the first subject and Plumbing Code was the 2nd subject. I was able to finish Day1 at around 1pm even though the exam was up to 5pm. Same thing happened to Day2 with SPDI and Practical Problems subjects, I finished early at 2pm and I was the last one to submit my test papers in the classroom. What I was really worried about is the Plumbing Arithmetic half of the questions in the exam wasn’t discussed or taught at the review center. I don’t how to answer them but I tried my best to gather whatever formula would fit into it. I asked my friend how did she do after the exam, she was also unsure of her answers in Plumbing Arithmetic. After getting home from the exam venue, I just said “Lord, Ikaw na bahala basta I have my faith in You”. My head was hurting and tired. I needed a rest after all of that. PRC would announce the results 3 days after the exam, July 19, 2023. I remember crying waiting for the July 19 announcement because it feels like 50/50. I might fail. I might pass. I switched my focus on work instead of that. When July 19 came, my friend and I was talking about not to look at the results ourselves because we might get disappointed that our names would not be there. Around 6pm my colleague messaged me that I pass and my friend also. We both passed.   I wouldn’t be able to achieve this without the Lord’s Help and everyone’s support for me. I was very happy and still am. It’s a milestone that will be in the books forever. I will do my best to use the title responsibly and it will reminder for me that with God nothing is impossible. Pray for it and He can help you.   Writing this testimony and I still cannot believe it that I actually passed a licensure exam and I got the title Master Plumber and I can write down “RMP” next to my name.
